Elements: A Collective Dining Room

When clients are both on their second marriages, they often task their designer with combining elements from two households. Such was the case for this luxurious villa, where Teddy Karl, Allied ASID of The Great Cover-Up worked with a couple to bring their former households together in this elegant dining room space. The mahogany shield-back chairs from Jansen and hickory table are new, but the artwork, hutch and sideboard came from previous homes. The luxurious flooring is a hand-knotted Persian rug that goes with the velvet chairs. Karl says the shade over the windows is woven grass and bamboo, and it was chosen “to offset the formal look of the space.”
